Education Program Directors

K-12 Outreach and Intervention

Shelea Majors M.S. | 20yrs K-12 Teaching Experience

With over 15 years of service in public schools  and 4 years in private education, Ms. Majors has extensive experience teaching children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.  She holds teaching certifications in Texas, New York, and California, and has served as a Title I Reading Intervention Coordinator, Algebra Initiative Coordinator, and Reading One-to-One Program Coordinator. In 2005, Ms. Majors received the ESL Teacher of the Year award for her work with second-language learners in the Houston area. Her primary area of focus is literacy development (traditional and multi-modal literacy).

In addition to her career in education, Ms. Majors has substantial media production experience and she has worked on a number of award winning documentary and fiction films. Through education research and applied classroom instruction, she works tirelessly to develop innovative strategies for incorporating education technology and visual media in traditional academic settings.

Higher Education

Cesare Wright Ph.D. M.F.A | 10yrs University Teaching Experience

Dr. Cesare Wright served for 7 years at Rice University as a lecturer in the George R. Brown School of Engineering and the Leadership and Outreach Specialist for the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL).

Dr. Wright co-developed and launched the official RCEL Certificate Program in Engineering Leadership, which is expressly endorsed by the National Academy of Engineering, and is now regarded as one of the premier programs in undergraduate leadership development in the U.S. 

Dr. Wright also created the internationally acclaimed Rice Drone Camp and Rice ELITE Camp programs, and led RCEL’s Undergraduate Internship program (100% internship placement of RCEL students for 5 years straight).

In addition to his courses in Engineering, Dr. Wright has offered courses in Film, Art & Art History, Anthropology and Visual & Dramatic Arts, including the first Rice University courses in Advanced Sound & Cinematography and Auteur Film Theory.

Dr. Wright has received numerous awards for education excellence and outreach:
