Shelea Majors exemplifies the Kino-Eye Center’s devotion to promoting academic achievement. With over ten years of service in the public school system and four years in private education, Shelea has extensive experience teaching children in diverse socio-economic areas.  She holds teaching certifications in Texas, New York, and California, and has worked in an administrative capacity as a Title I Reading Intervention Coordinator, Algebra Initiative Coordinator, and Reading One-to-One Program Coordinator. In 2005, Shelea received the ESL Teacher of the Year award for her work with second-language learners in the Houston area.

In addition to her career in education, Shelea has substantial media production experience and she has worked on a number of award winning documentary and fiction films. Through education research and applied classroom instruction, she works tirelessly to develop innovative strategies for incorporating education technology and visual media in traditional academic settings.
