On Sat. March 25th, Rice Athletics and the Girl Scouts are hosting a 90min seminar to empower women and girls with the mindset and physical skills necessary to prevent and defend against violent encounters. Admission to the seminar is free with a ticket to the Rice Baseball game! Open to women and girls of all ages!
Dr. Cesare Wright, Rice University Lecturer and RCEL Leadership Specialist, will speak briefly about the importance of personal security and empowerment as a key aspect of the confidence building that will allow women and girls to excel in education and industry. Following this introduction, world class Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt instructors will lead participants through a series of self-defense training exercises that focus on the most common bullying and assault scenarios faced by females.
